About How to Play FAQ

How to Play

A complete guide to every ClashGuesser game mode. Learn the rules, understand the hints, and discover strategies to improve your scores.

Getting Started

Open clashguesser.com and choose one of the four game modes on the home screen. No download or installation is required — the game runs entirely in your browser. You can play immediately as a guest, or create a free account to save your statistics, unlock achievements, and appear on the leaderboards.

Understanding Hints

Every round revolves around a mystery Clash Royale card. Hints are revealed progressively to help you narrow down your guess. The types of information you may receive include:

  • Elixir Cost — The amount of elixir required to deploy the card (e.g., 3, 4, 6).
  • Rarity — Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, or Champion.
  • Type — Whether the card is a Troop, Spell, or Building.
  • Target — What the card attacks: Ground, Air, Buildings, or Air & Ground.
  • Speed — Movement speed such as Slow, Medium, Fast, or Very Fast.
  • Range — Whether the card is Melee or Ranged, and the approximate range value.
  • Arena — The arena in which the card is unlocked.
  • Hit Points / Damage — Comparative hints like "High HP" or "Low damage".

Early hints are usually broader (e.g., elixir cost or type), while later hints become more specific (e.g., arena or speed). Using all available information together is the key to identifying the card quickly.

Daily Challenge — Rules

The Daily Challenge gives every player the same mystery card each day. You have a limited number of guesses to identify it. After each incorrect guess, a new hint is revealed.

  • One new challenge every day, resetting at midnight UTC.
  • All players get the same card and the same hint sequence.
  • Your score is based on how few guesses you needed.
  • Results are posted on the Daily Challenge leaderboard.
  • Once you finish (correct or out of guesses), you must wait until the next day for a new challenge.

Time Rush — Rules

Time Rush tests your speed. You start with 60 seconds and must identify as many cards as possible before time runs out.

  • Each correct guess awards points and adds +2 seconds to your timer.
  • Wrong guesses do not add time, and may reduce it depending on the mode.
  • Hints cycle quickly — read fast and trust your instincts.
  • Your final score (total correct guesses) is recorded on the Time Rush leaderboard.
  • You can play Time Rush as many times as you want to improve your record.

Classic Mode (Infinite) — Rules

Classic Mode is the most relaxed way to play. There is no timer, no guess limit, and no daily restriction.

  • A new mystery card is generated for every round.
  • Take as much time as you need to read hints and make your guess.
  • No leaderboard pressure — just learn and have fun.
  • Ideal for beginners who want to learn card attributes, or veterans who want a casual session.

Guess Who? — Rules

Guess Who? changes the format entirely. Instead of typing a guess, you see a grid of 30 cards and must find the hidden target through elimination.

  • A grid of 30 Clash Royale cards is displayed. One of them is the mystery card.
  • Hints are revealed one at a time (e.g., "Elixir cost is 4").
  • Click on cards that do not match the hint to eliminate them from the grid.
  • Be careful — if you eliminate the target card by mistake, you lose.
  • The game ends when only one card remains (you win) or when you eliminate the target (you lose).
  • This mode rewards logical deduction and a solid understanding of card properties.

Tips and Strategies

General Tips

  • Pay close attention to the elixir cost hint — it immediately rules out a large portion of cards.
  • Combine multiple hints before guessing. For example, "4 elixir + Epic + Troop" narrows the possibilities significantly.
  • If you are unsure, wait for one more hint rather than wasting a guess in Daily Challenge.

Time Rush Tips

  • Focus on the first one or two hints — experienced players can often identify a card after just the elixir cost and rarity.
  • Speed is more important than certainty. A fast correct guess earns you bonus time.
  • Practice in Classic Mode first to build up your card knowledge.

Guess Who? Tips

  • Eliminate cards methodically: check each hint against every remaining card before clicking.
  • When in doubt, do not eliminate. It is better to leave a non-matching card on the board than to accidentally remove the target.
  • Start by eliminating cards whose attributes you are confident about (e.g., wrong rarity or wrong type).

Accounts and Progress

Creating a free account allows you to save your game statistics across devices, appear on leaderboards, unlock achievements, track your card collection, and add friends. You can create an account at any time from the login prompt. Guest progress is stored locally in the browser and may be lost if you clear your data.
